Mindi Griffiths- Mindi resides in Portland, Oregon. She got her Masters Degree from Concordia University in Teaching. However, she was unable to continue her teaching career due diagnosis of a genetic condition - Ankylosis Spondylitis. The purpose of the Emerald Empire Hempfest is to unite our citizens in calling for sweeping reforms in America's laws against cannabis and hemp. This is a uniquely valuable plant: it provides high levels of key nutrients, relieves symptoms for patients suffering from an array of medical conditions, and can be made into environmentally positive products such as clothing, paper, paint, biodegradable plastics, and replacements for fossil fuels. Please join us in the fight to roll back prohibition and increase production and usage of one of the world's most beneficial plants!

Robert Orlosky ~ Court Support
Alright Team Green time to get ACTivated. Robert Orlosky needs your support.
Court Support Request for San Diego Medical Cannabis Patient
WHAT: Robert Orlosky – Motion to Dismiss
WHEN: 8:30AM, Thursday May 21, 2015
WHERE: Dept. 38 in the Downtown Courthouse - 220 W Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101
This case is mind blowing. Robert a legal medical marijuana patient. In 2013 a helicopter flew over his house in Jamul, Ca and marijuana plants were spotted. The Sheriff department went to do a compliance check, Robert allowed them in. He was cultivating roughly 10 cannabis plants. A week or so later he was raided. He went to trial fought his case and was found guilty by a jury for possession and cultivation.
However, the Judge only gave him probation NO jail time. The Judge permitted Robert to continue to use, possess, and cultvate marijuana if he got his MMIC card via the MMPA - which ironically allows him to possess and cultivate more cannabis than he was found guilty of- 24 plants he can now legally cultivate.
But, they appealed his case and WON. Case dropped-dismissed.....
Until District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis has re-opened this case and re-filed charges against Robert.
Please bring your green ribbons and show support for Robert! You can help from home too. Please email a polite message to [email protected] asking Dumanis to drop charges against Robert Orlosky.

The Importance of Jury Duty
Jury Duty is important because it is your constitutional duty. You not only vote on the facts you vote on the law- you vote with your conscious. This is called Jury Nullification- this is your ability to vote not guilty on unjust laws. You are protected by Jury Immunity meaning you can't be punished for your verdict.
So, why is this important? If we the cannabis community started sitting on Jury Duty and educating others about Jury Duty and Jury Nullification and start voting not guilty on ALL cannabis law we can stop the convictions. Jury Nullification occurs when a jury in a criminal case reaches a verdict contrary to the weight of evidence, sometimes because of a disagreement with the relevant law
Are you registered to vote?
No- this mean you may not get your summons to serve on Jury Duty if you are not a registered voter. Why?
How are potential jurors picked?
They are randomly selected from sources that may include various lists, such as voter registration lists and lists of licensed drivers and identification cardholders
Jury Nullification = Jury Nullification of law
There are no educational or skill requirements. Juries are made up of people from all walks of life; they are supposed to reflect the community. Jurors are asked to remain impartial during the trial, weigh the evidence presented to them, apply the applicable law and attempt to reach a verdict.
Now that you are a potential juror you still need to be picked to sit on jury duty. Now you will be dismissed by the judge is
- Formed an opinion about the case.
** This means you cannabis activist will be asked if you can convict someone for a cannabis crime. Don't think to hard about this question, don't lie, just limit your responses- stick to yes or no. Less is better. This process is also called voir dire. A panel of prospective jurors is randomly selected, sent to a courtroom and given an oath to tell the truth.
Once you become a juror- sit patiently through the whole case. Don't mention Jury Nullification or Jury Immunity. Don't get caught up in the prosecutor making claims about making millions of dollars, or plant count in the thousands, or 5 pounds of cannabis, or the fire-arms we are legally allowed to have under our constitution, don't fall for the money laundering, conspiracy, trafficking, or manufacturing charges you are going to hear. Remember, that everyone in the court-room including you except for ONE person is being paid- that is the defendant. Remember always, that he/she is innocent and has to be proven guilty by the prosecution- they have the burden of proof.
Ultimately, remember that NO-ONE BELONGS IN JAIL FOR A PLANT.
Celebrating the Constitution
To commemorate the September 17, 1787 signing of the Constitution of the United States, Congress had designated September 17th of each year as CONSTITUTION DAY and September 17-23 of each year as CONSTITUTION WEEK.
In 2004, Public Law 108-447, Session 111 was passed requiring the following:
"Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution.
"....each Federal agency or department shall provide educational and training materials concerning the United States Constitution to each employee...on September 17 of each year."
In keeping with theses congressional mandates, recent presidents have solicited help from the federal and local government leaders as well as civic and religious leaders to hold events to commemorate the occasion.
We encourage all citizens to use their influence to organize and support programs that honor the Constitution. Resources for holdings such a celebration may be found at nccs.net

Friend
As of 10:20 our friend Tracy Perry left the prison as a freed woman one of the ladies that Pres.Obama gave clemency to. We saw her leave and wished her the very best with her future. We asked her to represent us by doing the right thing and make her freedom count. We are so happy for her all of us old timers here.

The Depiction
Thus, the prison writer creates for no one, only his sanity. There be no joy nor mystery. Hard, is it enough to develop a verse, a tale. For there tis nay and not a ' happening ' for him as guide. The tomb-of-cell, blocks' all form nature. His tools, small pencil , paper that runs thin. Joining, and always a distraction ; man's brutality against his mind and body.... Of poetry, a cliff towards madness has to come to start the rhyme. There, the simple letters' of love, cannot be done. His tears are no more; parched is his heart.... Yes, the prison writer ;wish it on no aptitude fellow.... There ! Never to be, you and you and you with pencil in hand ,staring at four-walls. No, best to always live free....And when, that prison writer's last sentence is read....Let thee, and the Saints do try. Try to remember him.... And oh, of ' the ' why and why .
