Just found this site….this makes me sick. I can’t imagine how it would feel to be locked up for pot or having a loved one in that situation. I live in So. CA and we have an extension of the Cannabis Cup here every year in San Bernardino. Thousands getting high at an event! I am a retired hospice nurse and gave pot to my patients….and my husband is a retired Public Defender that has smoked pot all his life. My son is a grower…no, I can’t imagine.

I just did a total of about 7 years for weed . Even some of the guards are sympathetic to $20 prisoners . Really we need to march over and over . show them that the people are not ok with this . In the feds you are allowed only 300 phone minutes at a time . Max 15 minutes per call . at least we can email also now which helps a lot . Very good people are doing huge amounts of time and it is utterly immoral and criminal .

Sounds like a great plan to me, i am willing to do what I can to make it happen either down here in the Miami fla. area, or even across the USA once we can get it going. Seems like the cost would be not too bad! And of course depending on the cooperation of the Prisons-Wardens, and/or the BOP. Does anyone else here in the USA have more info on this sort of thing, like in, has it been tried in the USA before? Or what? One thing right of the bat comes to mind, people in prison have a time limit on how long they may be on the phone, reading a bedtime story would/could take a good few mintutes or so. Not sure on what the limits are but guess it should not be difficult to find out. We could if it is able to worked out, do it for not only Xmas, but the childs birthday, etc. It could be something they look forward to. HHO

In the UK, the charity Prisoners Abroad came up with the idea of prisoners with young children could make a phone call which would be recorded so that they could, for example, read their child a bedtime story, which could be made into a CD and given to the family.
Being adept with technology I took this idea and made it work for Daniel last Christmas. Great family support idea that can work, and has worked for us.
Setting it up as a service run by a cash-strapped charity proved unworkable, but it can be done on an individual basis to great effect.

    Wisdom Organics and ya all:
Some of that is very true, although i would add to that, our aim here right now is, all pwo420 to be set free. Then there is a lot more work to be done, i talked to Dennis this afternoon and fact is, the judicial system in this USA is a very big mess! i think, all the judges in the USA need to know, they are our servants, and that the Court Room is not their Kingdom. There is a world outside it that they will be required to answer to if they go outside the law. And this is just the tip of the iceberg! I wrote my first letter today, to someone down here in Fla. anthony. not sure what to put into the letter, but it was my first. Has anyone here wrote a letter to an inmate and would share here a bit, thank you HHO from Miami fla.

Good job Adela & thanks for posting Addy’s making it easier for folks to simply write & send a heartfelt, much needed letter. Been jammed & haven’t written a POW since Delisi B Day card & must get on it. Thanks also Dennis as know you’re big part of helping making this happen.

This is simply incomprehensible that anyone should be in jail for harmless plant, a medicinal herb in fact. No Victim, No Crime!
